POURABLE POLYURETHANE PLASTICS

Poly 15 Series

Poly 15 Series liquid plastics are useful for production of decorative objects, parts, lightweight mold shells, tools, models, patterns, fixtures, duplicate masters, vacuum forming molds and general tooling use. Poly 15-6, 1510, 1512 and 1512X have the feel and density of wood or thermoplastics and Poly 15-3 and 15-3X are more like stone.

Poly LiteCast™

Poly LiteCast™ liquid plastic is useful for production of decorative objects, production parts, tools, models, patterns, fixtures, duplicate masters, and general tooling use where a low density wood-like plastic is required.

EasyFlo™ Series

EasyFlo™ 60 is a super low viscosity, 1:1 by volume, fast-cast plastic with a 15-30 minute demold time.  The extremely low viscosity creates bubble-free castings and accepts high filler levels for techniques such as cold-cast bronze, marble, etc. EasyFlo™ 120 is similar to EasyFlo™ 60, but designed for rotocasting, slush casting or lay-up applications where lightweight, hollow castings are needed. EasyFlo 95 is a 5-minute working time version and EasyFlo Clear is a clear, light yellow/amber version which is ideal for color casting or filler applications. Poly-Optic® 14 Series

Poly-Optic® Resins are two component, water clear, Poly Urethane casting systems, formulated specifically for application where optical clarity is a must.

Poly Plasti-Flex®

A lightweight, slightly flexible casting plastic used to produce parts such as decorative trim molding, props, special effects castings and impact-resistant parts. Poly Plasti-Flex can also be used as a coating over carved foam or other substrates to create a more uniform surface for painting and finishing.

BRUSHABLE POLYURETHANE PLASTICS ~ POLYGEL® Plastic-75

Self-Thickening RTV Liquid Plastic for
Brush-On Mold Shells and Objects

DESCRIPTION: Polygel® Plastic-75 consists of two liquids, Part A and Part B, which after mixing one-to-one by weight or volume, immediately self-thickens and gels to a brushable or trowellable consistency, then cures at room temperature to a hard, strong RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) plastic. Polygel® Plastic-75 is ideal for building mold shells (mother molds) over brushed-on rubber molds and is useful as a patching compound and adhesive.

POLYGEL® FEATURES:

  • Tough, with high strength
  • Good grease and oil resistance
  • Fast - one day parts
  • Easy 1:1 mix, by weight or volume
  • Good adhesion between coats
  • Good dimensional stability
  • Long mold and shell storage life
  • Color coded mix indication

Polygel® Plastic-75 thickens to a paste with a 3 minute working time. As the liquid components of Polygel® are stirred together, the mix changes color and thickens to a buttery, non-sag paste. A shell can be built up in two or three coats, each applied about ten minutes apart, so a strong, lightweight mold shell can be made in less than an hour and demolded in about 4 hours.

SPRAYABLE POLYURETHANE PLASTICS ~ POLYGEL® -SHELL

Rapid-Setting RTV Liquid Plastic for Surface Hardcoats, Sprayed-Up Castings or Sprayed Mother Molds/Shells

DESCRIPTION: Polygel® Shell plastic is a two-part, rapid-setting liquid plastic designed for spray applications. Hand mixing this product is not recommended. For hand-mixed, brush-on plastic shell materials, see Polygel® Plastic-75 above or Poly 15-6 or 1512X . When meter-mixed and sprayed one-to-one by volume, Polygel® Shell sets almost immediately after contacting the surface being covered. Shells or castings can be demolded in ~2 hours depending upon thickness and ambient temperature. Thicknesses less than 1/4" may require longer cure time.

POLYGEL® SHELL FEATURES:

  • Easy 1:1 mix by volume
  • Rapid gel, fast demold
  • High strength
  • White color, accepts tints readily

Polygel® Shell plastic can be sprayed to any desired thickness in one application. Thin, tough coatings can be applied to many surfaces such as carved foam.  Mold shells should be approximately 1/4 inch thick. Shells sprayed thicker than 1/4 inch are not recommended as shrinkage may result due to the exotherm of the resin. For additional strength, fiberglass strand or mat can be laid between layers of Polygel® Shell. For very large shell sections, supporting structures such as boards or metal rods can be attached to prevent warping or damage during use.
