Poly-Optic® 14-Series Clear Casting Resins
Poly-Optic® 14-Series plastics are specifically designed for applications where optical clarity is a must. Castings will be water-clear; however, PolyColor Dyes can be added to obtain clear, colored castings. In addition, Poly-Optic systems can be filled with metal, marble and many other fine powders to achieve myriad effects.
Poly-Optic resins are the plastics of choice for mimicking glass and ice-like features and are widely used to create stunning prototypes (lenses, bottles, containers), as well as unique art, medical models, sculpture and display items.
NOTES: Vacuum and/or pressure casting techniques are recommended for these products. Cure inhibition can occur when casting this resin in TinSil® tin-cured silicone rubber molds – use a PlatSil® platinum-cured silicone rubber mold if working with silicone mold rubbers. Polyurethane mold materials can also be used, but a release agent is required (e.g., Pol-Ease® 2300 Release Agent).

|Poly-Optic® 1420 Casting Resin||This casting resin cures to a tough, impact- and heat-resistant, water-clear plastic that can be polished and machined. For strong plastic, heat cure at 150°-180°F. |Accelerator||Use Poly-Optic 14 Part X Accelerator to increase the speed of curing.|
|Retarder||Add Poly-Optic 14 Part R Retarder to slow the cure of Poly-Optic products. Recommended when casting over 0.5" thickness.|
|Color Dyes||PolyColor Dyes can be used to color Poly-Optic 14-Series plastics. They are available in Black, Brown, Blue, Green, Red, Yellow, and a White and Fleshtone Pigment.|
|UV Stabilizer||Use UV Additive to help reduce the onset of chalking and pitting of Poly-Optic products for exterior applications.|
|Product Life Extender||Use PolyPurge Aerosol Dry Gas to extend product life by spraying it into containers before resealing.|
