Poly-Optic® 1410 Casting Resin
Poly-Optic® 1410 is a 3A:2B mix, water-clear, hard, Shore D80 polyurethane casting plastic that is great for making clear parts that look like water or glass. This casting resin can be colored with PolyColor Dyes to produce transparent, colored castings.
Cure Poly-Optic 1410 at room temperature and, for optimum physical properties, post cure at 150°F. Using pre-warmed molds hastens demold time, reduces shrinkage and improves the overall quality of the casting.
For a Poly-Optic product with a 1A:1B mix ratio, consider Poly-Optic 1411 Casting Resin.
Poly-Optic 1410 can be mixed with Poly-Optic 14-70 (a firm rubber) to achieve a variety of hardnesses between A70 and D85.
NOTES: Vacuum and/or pressure casting techniques are recommended for these products. Cure inhibition can occur when casting this resin in tin-cured silicone rubber molds – use a platinum-cured silicone rubber mold if working with silicones.
