Polytek® Product Selector Tool
A silicone-based, aerosol spray release agent for use on non-porous or sealed models when making polyurethane rubber molds.
Not recommended for use with silicone mold rubbers.
Also apply to cured polyurethane molds when casting a variety of materials, including polyurethane liquid plastics, rubber and epoxies.
Petroleum Jelly can be used as a release agent for certain mold making and casting applications.
White petrolatum dissolved in mineral spirits.
This semi-permanent option can serve as a sealer and release agent on porous models when making polyurethane and silicone rubber molds.
Solvent and silicone-based release agent for use on models before pouring liquid polyurethane rubber.
Fast drying, but flammable. Not recommended for use with silicone mold rubbers.
Aerosol spray release agent that can be washed off of models. Can be applied to sealed or non-porous models for use with liquid silicone rubbers.
Also use to extend the mold life of silicone rubber molds when casting certain materials.
Can be applied to polyurethane rubber molds when release agent needs to be washed off of cast parts (to more easily accept paint), but the mold will degrade faster than when using Pol-Ease® 2300 Release Agent.
Water-based release agent designed for use when casting concrete or plaster.
Works best when allowed to dry before casting. Should only be applied to cured polyurethane rubber molds.
Silicone-free, oil-based release agent designed for use when casting concrete or plaster.
After application, no drying time necessary prior to casting. Should only be applied to cured polyurethane rubber molds.
Pol-Ease® 2750 Latex Release Agent is designed specifically for use when casting concrete into latex rubber molds and will result in easier demolding of concrete parts and improved mold life.
A water-soluble (removable with water), alcohol-based sealer and release agent. Available in clear or green.
Mold Making: Use to seal porous models when making polyurethane and silicone rubber molds. Must use additional release agent (Pol-Ease 2300) when applying polyurethane rubber.
Casting: Can be applied to cured polyurethane rubber molds as a “barrier coat” and is most often used (in conjunction with Pol-Ease 2300) when casting polyester resin.
PolyCoat is a semi-permanent, silicone-based sealer and release agent.
Mold Making: Can be applied to non-porous or porous models when making polyurethane and platinum-cured silicone rubber molds (not recommended for tin-cured silicone rubbers).
Casting: Can be applied to cured polyurethane, platinum-cured silicone, and tin-cured silicone rubber molds to extend their useful life.
